Styling the ultimate bar cart can be fun and refreshing at the same time. Although your bar cart is a place where you contain the items used to make beverages, it can also be a stylish focal point in your home. The following 7 essentials can be used to style the ultimate bar cart.
Bar Cart Basics
If you are using your bar cart for beverages, there are a few must have items you will need to include. Your bar cart can be designed to be a one stop creative spot for mixing your favorite drinks. You can’t have a bar cart without the basic items. You’ll need measuring cups/spoons, strainer, juicer, bottle opener, corkscrew, and ice bucket. You can also consider using a small tray to keep items separated on the cart. The tray can also be used to make sure the surface of your cart is protected from spills.

Decor Items
Your bar cart needs to be as fabulous as it is functional. The days of boring bar carts containing only an ice bucket and a high ball glass is over. Be creative with your bar cart. It should serve as a focal point when not in use. A floral arrangement is a way to add beautiful colors and accents to your bar cart. Consider the theme and color scheme of your room when determining which florals to use. Use different sized and styled apothecary jars to store garnishes, stemware rings, and other small items which need to be contained.

Art & Napkins
Art should never be limited to the walls of your home. Although hanging a beautiful art piece over the bar cart is a fabulous idea, it’s not the only idea. Consider placing an art item on the bar cart itself. It can be a picture, quote, or even a recipe. Be creative and have fun. There are no rules. A must have item for every bar cart are napkins. It a necessary item. Instead of using white paper towels or brown napkins, opt for beautiful napkins. You can even consider using clothe napkins. They are absorbent and can be reused after being cleaned. I’ve also seen very fun themed paper napkins. They can be the perfect conversation starter.
Drinkware
I absolutely love fashionable drinkware. From a plain clear crystal to a bold pattern, all types can be used and appreciated on your bar cart. This is another opportunity to add your own personal style on your bar cart. You can also consider mixing and matching various styles for events and seasons.
Personal Creativity
Your bar cart does not have to be “all work”. Be creative and infuse your own personal style while outfitting your bar cart. Use fun shaped ice cubes to bring a pleasant visual appeal to your drinks. Fun and functional swizzle sticks and straws will not only stir your drink, they will provide a nice punch of personality to your beverage.

Beverages
A properly stocked bar cart will contain a good mix and variety of beverages. From sparkling water to your favorite spirit, your bar cart should be equipped with the beverages to mix your favorite drink. Don’t feel obligated to have each and every drink from all categories. Only store the ones you and your guests may use. The following beverages may be included in your bar cart: water, sparkling water (such as Perrier), juices (grapefruit, orange, pineapple, etc.), spirits, mixers, beer, and wines.
Ingredients
The ultimate bar cart is not complete without its final touches. The minor ingredients are needed to add a major splash by taste and visual effect. Don’t forget to include items such as sugar, sea salt, lemons, limes, and hot sauce. You can also be creative with its containers. Use those beautiful apothecary jars I mentioned earlier.

I am wanting to make a rolling island the size of a ball cart. Our kitchen is kind of small without enough prep space. I love the idea of a rolling cart that can be tucked in a corner when not in use.
