Routines and good habits are like the ingredients of living the life you want. It is rare that everything in ours lives are automatically perfect. Therefore, we can take actions for our desired outcome. For example, I admire the person who can eat whatever they want, not exercise, and has the perfect body. Most people have to take actions. Check out these easy routines you can create to help live a productive life.
Take Baby Steps
At times I like to jump “all in” when it involves a new project. The thrill is high and I’m excited about the outcome. I’ve learned that the “quicker you fall, the quicker you fall.” If you jump too fast into a project and it doesn’t immediately go the way you plan, you may be discouraged to complete it. It can be overwhelming and you may give up too soon. I suggest we take time when starting new task so we don’t get discouraged and give up too soon.
Creating Morning & Evening Routines
Creating a morning and evening routine will help make your life run smoother. Even if you do not follow the routine perfectly everyday, you will at least have some form of a pattern to follow. You’ll know exactly what needs to be done and what you can skip or amend if necessary. In my home, routines are what keeps us in order. However, we do allow for modifications. We are not robots, just Stepford wannabees

Wake Up Earlier
I probably love sleep as much, if not more than the average person. Laying in a comfortable bed and allowing your mind to just relax is the ultimate form of peace and tranquility. When you have small children, sleep is a valuable as currency. Sacrificing precious sleep can be a very hard task to take on. However, waking up at least 30 minutes earlier can help increase your productivity. Most successful people start their day prior to 7:00 a.m. By waking up earlier, you are able to get more accomplished before noon.
Enjoy the Small Wins
I highly recommend that we acknowledge and enjoy the small wins. It’s not an “all or nothing” effort. Rome was not built in one day. Each completed step towards our goals should be appreciated. We should often review our goals to make sure we are on the right track. Setting SMART goals is key to being productive.

Challenge Yourself
A healthy (one time) challenge can lead to wonderful routines. In May of 2020, I participated in the Mattie James Instagram Consistency Challenge. She challenged her followers to post once a day on Instagram. I completed the challenge and have been posting consistently on Instagram. The challenge showed me that I could do more with my Instagram account than I was previously doing.
I also challenged myself to participate in her July 2020 Blog Challenge. During that challenge, my goal is to blog once a day (Mon – Fri) in July for 20 days. Prior to the challenge, I typically post once a week. By posting daily for a month, it will show me that I can actually post 2 or 3 times a week without any problems. Challenges are great for helping you create routines. Stay tuned for my “Make Up Your Bed Daily” challenge on Instagram for August 2020. Please follow me on Instagram to participate in the challenge.
I hope you found these tips useful to you. Creating routines and helpful habits will help you increase productivity and accomplish your goals. Please feel free to ask any questions or leave your suggestions in the comment section.
