8 Creative Ways to Use a Bar Cart

January 14, 2016 by Divine Elements of Design 40 Comments

One popular trend is incorporating bar carts in your home’s decor. If you are not a connoisseur of adult beverages, you can still use a bar cart. Bar carts come in various shapes, sizes, finishes, and colors. Here are eight creative ways to use a bar cart in your home.

8 Creative Ways to Use A Bar Cart

  • Stationary / Mail Station – Use a bar cart to store all of your letter and mail needs.
  • Makeup Station – Display your make up collection on a beautiful bar cart. Use clear acrylic jewelry boxes and trays for your makeup.
  • Coffee / Hot Station – A designated area for your coffee is simply divine. You can display your beautiful cups and also have your coffee/tea supplies readily available.
  • Plant Stand – Using a bar cart is a creative way to display your house plants and flowers.
  • Craft Station – Use a bar cart to store your craft paper, pens, stickers, stamps, and all other craft supplies.
  • Changing Station Supplies – Place your baby’s pampers, wipes, powders, and other items on an easy to grab car cart.
  • Candy / Popcorn Stand – Your media/game room will be complete with a bar cart filed with movie goodies.
  • Silverware & Condiment Caddy – What an awesome way to display your silverware and condiments during a dinner party.

I have always used a little cart (not necessarily a “bar cart”) for my cleaning supplies. It helps keep everything organized and easy to grab!

While I fully intend to use my bar cart as it is intended once I finally acquire one (read: move out of this tiny horrible apartment), I absolutely LOVE the idea of turning it into a hot beverages station. That would work great for parties where the majority aren’t drinking but definitely want something hot. Truly great suggestions here.

Great ideas. I love using it for coffee. I just got a soda stream and I have the machine and all of the flavoring bottles… so I may have to get a barcart to store all that!

Such great ideas! We have a bar cart just sitting in our basement. I love the idea of a craft station or a stationary cart. I’m going to work on that later. Thank you!

Cool ideas! We have a small ikea one we use for baking ingredients. It comes in handy. I’d love to get a larger one for photography props and during shots.

I originally misread the title as ‘bar chart’ and figured I would never look at a bar chart the same way again. lol! Then when I took a second look I realised it was ‘bar cart’ and had a good chuckle about my faux pas! If I ever want to get a bar cart down the track I will be totally able to justify the purchase with your list of diversified uses. Thanks!

I want a bar cart so bad! I keep thinking of getting one to use as a small island in my kitchen. It’s tiny, and galley style, so there’s no room for an island, but I could tuck something smaller next to the refrigerator for extra mobile storage that I can roll over to the stove when I’m cooking.
