Sometimes we just want to make a few updates to our home without spending a lot of money or taking too much time. These ten easy updates can provide an instant and beautiful transformation to your home’s decor.
- Change your door’s hardware. You’re not forced to keep that dull standard issued door knob or hardware.
- Bring natural elements into your home with live plants and flowers.
- Change your lamp shades. This is a very effective way of reusing your existing lamp.
- Rearrange your art and furniture to create a new look. You’ll be surprised what a little rearranging can do. Finally put those old family pictures in frames and create a gallery wall.
- Add a mirror to each room. In a small room, a mirror make create the appearance of having a larger room. A beautifully framed mirror can also be a focal point of the room.
- Paint your ceilings in addition to your walls. Many people don’t realize the effect a painted ceiling can provide a room.
- Add curtains on rings or use grommets instead of rod pockets. This will provide a high end look.
- Replace light switch plates. This easy peasy step is an easy upgrade. Let’s toss those builder grade white plastic switch plates.
- Add a valance and/or decorative stationary panels to your window. This will beautifully frame the window and/or blinds.
- Replace your towels, rugs, and shower curtains in your bathrooms. Be creative and change it for the season.
