When decorating your kitchen, people often forget about the top of their refrigerator. Many people usually utilize this area to store cereal boxes, bread, or other random items. When Curated Quarters Publisher and Curator Celeste Alexander asked members of a private Facebook group how they decorated above their refrigerator, many members came through with beautiful pictures. With the exception of Celeste, the following pictures are from homes of non interior designers. Awesome decor!
Full of Art
Celeste Alexander’s design style has never cease to amaze me. She knows all of the design rules and breaks them perfectly. I love her use of art on top of her refrigerator. The vase being a similar shade of her wall color is the icing on the cake.
Let’s Sip Some Tea
This refrigerator is giving me “Farmhouse Tea.” I love the sunflowers in the dairy jar and the red tea kettle. Many people keep their tea kettle on their stove, but I am loving the idea of it being stored on top of the refrigerator. The “Faith Family Friends” plaque is the perfect size and shows what is important to the resident.
Functional Decor
By storing the stainless steel bread holder and cake holder on top of the refrigerator, it allows more space for other items on the countertops. Adding the faux plant and metal vase on top, it gives a more intentional look. Great job. I have the exact same cake holder or dessert tray in my kitchen. However, I keep faux cupcakes in them to add a realistic appeal.
Lemonade Style
I always say “when life hands you lemons, use them to decorate.” That’s exactly what Jaime Golden did with her refrigerator. I love all things lemon related. The kitchen plaque in addition to the lemons was the perfect touch. Well done!!!
When in Paris…
Who says your above refrigerator space has to look like it belongs in the kitchen? No one!! And that exactly the vibe I got from T. Nicole Merritt’s space. I love the nod to Paris with the Eiffel Tower flowers, and designer books.
Simple and Clean
Sometimes there is elegance in simplicity. That is how I best describe this refrigerator. The lack of clutter and over abundance of items is very refreshing.
Good Night
“The Kitchen is Closed” is one of my favorite saying. In my home, the kitchen is the last room that gets shut down for the night. I love this saying on top of the refrigerator. The potted plant also adds decor. Great touch.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how several non design professionals decorated the top of their refrigerators to reflect the personal style of their home. How do you decorate the top of your refrigerator? Do you think you will use some of these strategies?
