I typically do not believe in making New Years Resolutions. Instead, I reevaluate my home, life, and organizational goals. I review the things that I attempted and accomplished during the prior year. My goal is to always be improving. Let’s establish our 2022 Home & Organizational Goals together.
Review Your 2021 Vision
Did you create a vision board for 2021? Did you set home goals for 2021? I understand 2021 was our first full year in the pandemic, therefore we need to take that into consideration. We are all still trying to adjust to our new norm. What worked for you? What changes did you have to implement in your home life? Are you now working from home? Did you have to make changes to your home to accommodate your new work schedule? These are just a few questions you should ask yourself when reevaluating your 2020. I have always worked from home, therefore I already had a “work at home” office space prepared. However, we had to make things accessible for my children to attend school virtually.
I planned two home projects (kitchen renovation & master closet renovation) and completed them. Unfortunately, my stove and dryer died during the year, so I had to replace those. Because I didn’t over plan for 2021, I was able to make the unplanned purchases. Take a few minutes and review your 2021 goals and vision.
Identify 2-3 Home Projects
Yes, there are 52 weeks and 365 days in a year. However, we have to be realistic with our goals and projects. In addition to wanting to accomplish our goals, we have to live and work. We can’t do everything all the time. When goal setting, don’t forget to make your goals SMART. Consider also making ongoing goals such as “making your bed daily” and also larger project goals such as “organizing your pantry.” You can plan to complete one project a quarter or half of the year. Use the SMART strategies to plan your goals and projects.

Write it Down
Writing down our goals is actually a great step in helping us accomplish them. You can write it down in your planner, create a vision board, or make an alert on your phone. If you want to create a vision board but feel you are not “crafty”, consider making a digital vision board. Cut and paste pictures from internet to create a digital vision board. Being able to see what we want to accomplish, has psychological benefits to helping us complete it. Be creative.

Having some form of accountability is direct motivation to help us accomplish our goals. You can have an accountability partner, join a group, or simply just make a verbal commitment. Feel free to join my VIP Facebook group to connect with like minded individuals.
My Goals
My ongoing goals are to continue to make mine and my daughters’ beds daily, reset my living room nightly, weekly meal plan/prep, and continue to prepare my daughters’ clothes for the week on Sunday. I have identified three big projects. I’m planning a stairwell renovation, to clean and organize my garage, and a lighting project for my living room.
I hope you found these tips for establishing your 2022 home and organization goals helpful. What are some of the things you would like to accomplish?
