Day Designer Planner Review and Giveaway

July 13, 2015 by Divine Elements of Design 74 Comments

Day Designer PlannerPlanning and productivity are very important to me. Everyone knows I enjoy all things planner related. As a busy mother, decorator, organizer, blogger, and YouTuber, I’m always looking for tools to help me create balance in my life. When Whitney English Day Designer and Blue Sky collaborated to make an affordable and functional planner, I immediately wanted to review one and offer a few to my subscribers. This particular Day Designer can be purchased at Target. Target offers several different planner options from pocket size to a desk pad.

The cover

I absolutely love the striped black and white cover on this planner. The cover is hard bound and durable. The spiral coils are gold and is a great contrast to the cover. The monthly tabs are laminated and does not stick beyond the cover.

Pages 1 & 2

DDCalendar

The first page shows a two year at a glace reference. This is excellent for a brief overview of two years. The second page displays “The Story” of the planner. It contains a letter and information from Whitney English, Day Designer Creator and Founder and Jim Freeman, Blue Sky Founder and CEO.

Start with The Big Picture & Set Your Goals

Day Designer 1 & 2

This page is where you can write down the important things in your life such as your goals, ideas, and aspirations. I think this section is great to really look and revisit the “big picture.”

I absolutely love the idea of being able to set multiple goals. The specific goals listed are “Personal Goals”, “Family, Friends, & Relationship Goals”, “Heart & Spirit Goals”, “Financial Goals”, and “Work, Career, or Study Goals.” There is also an “Accomplish By” section for each goal. This is good for annotating either your projected completion date or the date you actually completed your goal.

Design Your Days & Stay On Course

DD34

In order for me to have a productive day, I must plan my morning and evening routines. I love the idea of being able to plan my everyday activities in this section. The Stay on Course section is great for keeping track of important milestones. You can review your course throughout the week, month, or year. This allows you to do whatever works for you.

Monthly View

DDMonthly

The monthly view is printed on a two page spread. It has a section for monthly “to do & notes.” It also shows the previous month and upcoming month. Holidays are indicated with a little page flag as a reminder. I love being able to see my entire month at one time. Each block is lined. This feature is great for me.

Weekly View

DSC00265

The weekly view is also on a two page spread in a vertical style. I love the “Today’s Top Three” section for each day. By focusing on the most important things, you may be able to accomplish them more effectively. Each week also contains an inspirational quote. The daily schedule is listed in one hour increments from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Although it’s listed in the hourly increments, you can be creative and do what works best for you. The bottom section of the day is listed as “Tonight.” Feel free to list your evening activities. You can also use this section as a meal planner or to track your water intake. The last section is for gratitude, notes, and next week.

Blank Pages

DDNotes

There are 11 lined empty pages which you may use for notes.

Holiday Calendar

DDHolidays

A list of all holidays and some important dates are listed in the back of the planner.

Overall, I am very pleased with this planner. It is an excellent option for anyone wanting to design their day and increase productivity.

Ah, I love the Day Designer planner. I’ve been eyeing it for so long. It’s too bad they don’t sell them in Belgian stores, but maybe I’ll get one online for 2016!

I’m so sorry to hear they are not sold in Belgian stores… Maybe you will win this one. If not, online is your best option.

I love the hard cover and gold coil. The gold corners are a very nice touch. I just love how sophisticated this planner looks.
I also like how they provide you with so much to think about and write down. Sometimes, I just don’t know what to write and this planner helps in that respect.
The check-off lists are long and that’s something else that I like. There are so many planners that don’t provide enough space. This planner is perfect to me.

I saw these planners at Target today and thought they were gorgeous! I love gold, and I really like that they have several different types of planners so you can choose what best fits your needs. I’ve been using a binder type planner but these might just tempt me back to the spiral planners. Thanks for the giveaway!
