Hello my Divine Friends… With the help of all my wonderful followers and subscribers, August was great for the Decorator’s Voice and Divine Elements of Design. This report is a reflection of my blog, my efforts, and you. Thank you so much!!!
August Highlights
During the month of August, I converted my blog from a WordPress.com blog to a self hosted WordPress.org blog. Basically, instead of being www.decoratorsvoice.wordpress.com, I am now at www.decoratorsvoice.com. I was fully able to convert my page, posts, pictures, comments, followers, and statistics over. Everything was done for me by WPBeginner. Easy Peasy!!
I also discovered and now using CoSchedule to schedule my blogs and as a social media calendar. It is simply one of my best discoveries made during August. I highly recommend all bloggers use this product. It works excellent with WordPress. Sign up for the free 14 day trial and I promise you will not be disappointed. I was initially using another scheduler, but quickly switched over. Currently the cost is $15 per month, but I feel it is well worth it. I will write a detailed blog post about CoSchedule soon. As an active blogger, you can’t write a blog and drop the mic. You must promote it. With Coschedule, you can schedule your blog posts and schedule the social media posts for it at the same time… You can then, drop the mic.. If you are interested in CoSchedule click here.
I wrote a guest post for a fellow blogger at www.becauseimcheap.com. It was a great experience for me and her. The post received multiple comments and follower interaction. I am looking forward to guest posting for other bloggers. If you are interested in working with me, please feel free to visit my Media Kit page.
During August I posted the following blog posts: 8 Quick, Easy, & Stylish Updates to Your Bathroom, 8 Must Haves For a 7 Day Cruise, How to Keep Your Sofa Toss Pillows Looking Fabulous When You Have Kids or Pets, 9 Tips For Saving Money During Your Cruise, 5 Things to Do Before You Leave Work to Have a Better Work Day Tomorrow, How to Turn Your Regular TV into a Smart TV, and How to Avoid Digital Eye Strain Phonetic Eyewear Review & Giveaway. Feel free to visit and share any of those posts. Leave a comment and tell me what you think. I would love to hear from you.

congrats girl! I am really trying also to post twice a week! With being a mom to 2 kids and being a teacher it can be difficult at times! But it’s in the planner to post twice! 🙂
Divine Elements of Design says
LOL.. Yes ma’am. It can really really REALLY be a struggle to post twice a week when you’re working, raising kids, taking care of a household, etc.. The key is to try to be as consistent as possible. I keep a small notebook in my purse and anytime I get an idea of of a topic to write, I’ll write it down. I also try to write my posts for the week on one day. Even if its just the draft, its easier to go back later and fine tune it. I know you can do it Brittany. I’m looking forward to reading two posts from you next week and so forth. 🙂

Excellent growth! Welcome to WordPress! Guest posting has helped my growth the most too in my short time blogging. I definitely need to start writing goals down to help keep me focused! There is so much that CAN be done for blogging.
Divine Elements of Design says
Thanks for the welcome. Yes, there is so much involved with blogging. Social Media is now my Social Life.. LOL… I’m enjoying my upgrade to WordPress. I encourage anyone who blogs to take that route immediately.

Heather @ The Deans List Blog says
How did you gain so many Instagram followers??
Divine Elements of Design says
I took very proactive actions during August with Instagram. I found similar Instagram accounts in the same niche as mine. I followed them and commented a lot on their pics. Then I look at their pics that had a lot of likes and comments. I followed the people who liked their pages. I commented and liked the followers as well. The key is engagement. My next goal is to work on Twitter. But I haven’t decided exactly how I will do it with Twitter. 🙂

Divine Elements of Design says
Thanks for the support. Yes it’s a constant effort growing your list and to continue to post when you have a small following. I tell myself to write for the (amount of) following I want not the (amount of) following I have.
