There may be many reasons why you are searching for the list of essentials that can be placed in your living room. Maybe you want to make it more comfortable or are just trying to experiment with the looks without going over the budget. While changes are for good, there are plenty of options which, if introduced to the living room, can lift its whole appeal and make it more cozy. After all, when we are talking about living rooms, comfort comes first and style usually follows. Here are a few essentials which will blow your mind without breaking the bank:
1. Cushions & Pillows
You can never go wrong with cushions and pillows. You might have heard about how they can help introduce patterns and colors in any room. From floor pillows, to decorative cushions, this addition is absolutely essential. But speaking in the sense of a must-have, the lounge pillow with arms is a new trend on the block. With its extended arms, stuffed back and different colors, you can make a whole separate comfortable sitting space for yourself almost anywhere.
2. Living Room Storage Shelves
Let’s face it, everyone is guilty of dumping random things in the living room. No matter how many drawers come in, things tend to roll around everywhere. So what to do? Bring in more tables? Absolutely not. You can play the storage card gracefully, all you need to do is be a bit more creative. Invest in bookshelves and organize your items on it. If too many tables are suffocating your space or are not making it in the budget, consider purchasing a modern designed trunk to use as a center table. In modern interior decor, these trunks are surely making a comeback, for their feasibility, of course!
3. Accent Chairs
Extra seating never goes to waste, then why not bring those traditional accent chairs out? The best part is that these are not t00 expensive and can own a stylish aura of its own. Plus, be it your own place or your parents, there is always an extra pair, so why not utilize them to the fullest. While you are bringing in this seating, be sure to make it a source of contrast as well. In this way, you will break the boring monotony of the living room and give it a refreshing look.
4. DIY Frames
While your artistic instincts would be tingling to try to decorate your plain space too, if your wallet does not seem to approve this notion, do not be disheartened. Wall hangings and frames are easy on the money and excellent source of decor. And if you feel this is the only good thing in its long list of advantages, then let’s discuss the biggest one of the bunch- you can create your own DIY frames and they will look just as good as anything on those living room walls. Win-Win situation for everyone.
5. Lights go a long way
Natural sunlight is great during the day. But when night arrives, it lighting gets tricky. If there isn’t enough lighting, no matter how much stuff you have in your living room, no matter how wonderful and costly they are, that area may end up looking dull and boring. Lighting plays a key role in setting the mood and ambiance, which is why you should opt for sources that are more symmetrical. If you are to include lamps, don’t opt for the fancy, lacy ones. Try experimenting with contemporary stand styles. For instance, instead of opting for 3 different lamps, why not get two and place a lamp stand in one corner of the room?
Lastly, it’s quite important to understand the dimensions of your living room. A large room with more things and a smaller one with lesser things won’t appeal as much. Always be sure to strike a moderate balance.

Wow! I never knew that adding a lounge pillow with arms can help create a comfortable sitting space that complements the room’s design. Aside from this piece, one can also find inspiration on how to decorate it is by looking at furniture sets. In addition to that, one must also measure how big the room is before buying the set.
