Do you dread opening your email inbox? Do you often miss important emails due to your inbox being over cluttered? Take the following steps to take control of your email inbox and to make it clutter free.
- Unsubscribe to sales ads and electronic circulars. Your email address should be a protected as your physical address. There is no need to receive tons of emails in your inbox that you will never read or use.
- Opt for a separate email address just for promotional sales. This will free your main inbox from multiple emails received daily with sales ads and promotions.
- Don’t open your email inbox until you have time to read, delete, and respond to emails. Set aside a time to read and respond to emails. Do this periodically to avoid being overwhelmed.
- Create separate folders or filters for different email categories. Coupons, order confirmations, etc…
- Enter ticket confirmations in your planner or calendar. Many people keep the confirmation emails with event information in their email account as a reference. By putting that information some place else, you can avoid cluttering your email inbox with it.

I love these tips! I try not to open my email unless I’m ready to deal with it right then. And in case that doesn’t work, I make it a habit to go through it once a week to clean it out.
Great job. Thanks for sharing your strategy.
Great tips! It drives me nuts when I see the little red notification on my phone of a ton of emails!

I think that I’m going need a new email just for shopping/promotional emails. Even using unrollme and unsubscribing, it’s still a ton.
Yes, send all of those promotions to one separate email.
These are such great tips! Thanks for the helpful post! xo![My Profile](http://decoratorsvoice.com/wp-content/plugins/commentluv/images/littleheartplus.png)

Great tips! Unroll.me has helped me declutter my inbox quite a bit!
I’ll have to check them out. Thanks for sharing!
My email is so overwhelmed, I don’t know where to begin to declutter it. I’ve been meaning to make folders and unsubscribe to newsletters I no longer read. These are good tips.
Unsubscribe first. Also you can sort your emails by sender. That’s an excellent way to delete tons of emails from a participate source you know you no longer need.
This is the one area of my life that I cannot get a handle on. I feel like I never have enough time to go through my email and go through it. I do have 2 different emails one for business and the other for sales and newsletters. I’ve become so overwhelmed that I open it look at it for a few minutes and then leave. I’m going to have to put this on my priority list and just get on it. Thanks for the tips, they are super useful.
There is never enough time when we get behind. Don’t just open your email and leave. Try to at least delete a few items before logging off.
Love these tips! It’s so easy for your inbox to get cluttered in a hurry!
Yes, it is. That’s exactly why we need to designate a time to go through our email inbox.
The thought of ALL the emails I get is overwhelming however I do agree with having a separate email just for sales, coupons, etc. I have this and it makes life a lot better. 🙂

My email is currently out of control, and i’m just sitting here thinking “what am I gonna do” because most of them are things I really need to attend to but I’m overwhelmed! lol
It’s so easy to get overwhelmed in our life full of “chaos”. Take your time and take small steps.
About 6 months ago, I took an entire morning and unsubscribed from all the promotional emails I had signed up for over the years..and it has been one of the best time investments ever! 🙂![My Profile](http://decoratorsvoice.com/wp-content/plugins/commentluv/images/littleheartplus.png)

You’re on the right track. That’s great!
I always try to save my plane tickets and concert info into my calendar right away. Saves time from finding it later.
