Your bedroom should be your personal haven. This is the room you spend the most of your time in. It’s the first room you see in the morning and the last room you see at night. You are in your room at least 8 hours a day. Although we basically live in our rooms, we should try to keep it as clean as possible. These are my top 10 steps for keeping a bedroom clean.
Make Up Your Bed Each Morning
Take the extra few minutes to make up your bed every morning. Nothing says a messy room like an unmade bed. A made bed is the first step to keeping your room clean. If you can do one thing, make your bed.
Keep Your Nightstand Clean
Remove all excess papers from on top of your nightstand(s), chest, and drawers. Flat surfaces tend to attract clutter. A cluttered nightstand gives the illusion of an unclean room.
Find a Home For Your Accessories
Keep all shoes, belts, purses, and accessories in their assigned space. Are you utilizing your closet and drawers properly? Assign a home for all your items. A key to a clean room is organization.
Pick Up Items Daily For a Clean Room
Spend a few minutes each day maintaining your room. Before you go to bed, pick up and put away all items. It will feel great to wake up in a clean room!!

Put Your Clothes Up
Your clothes should be put away immediately after taking them off. Place dirty clothes in the hamper and hang up clothes that will be worn again. If you do this daily, you can maintain a clean room.
Limit the Reading Material in Your Room
If you read in your bed, only keep a limited amount of reading material in your room. Multiple books and magazines may appear as clutter.
Clean Pillows are Needed for a Clean Room
Clean your pillow as often as needed. See the tag for instructions.
Reevaluate Your Laundry Routine
Instead of having a designated “washing” day, wash more often. Smaller loads are easier to put away. Try to avoid the laundry mound of clothes in your room.
Don’t Eat in Your Room
If you have to eat or drink in your room (hopefully not), throw away the wrappers, bottled drinks and other items as soon as you are done with them. Eliminating trash is important to a clean room.

Limit the Items Your Bring in Your Room
Only bring items in your room that belong there. Your room is not a resting spot for items. Things such as kids toys or work items do not belong in your bedroom. (Unless you share a room with your kid or work in your room.)

Thank you! Glad I stopped by your blog.
By the way, you didn’t mention anything about the air quality. Although, it’s quite an important thing that affects your sleep.
To ensure clean air, you can:
1. Ventilate the room 5 minutes before bedtime.
2. Add some indoor plants (they are natural air purifiers). But make sure you are not allergic to them.
3. If you have an air conditioner in your bedroom, clean its filters regularly. Dirty filters are often the cause of poor indoor air quality.

Regularly picking up items, putting away clothes, and limiting reading material in the room help maintain cleanliness.
