Hello Fresh Review

As a new(ish) mom, I’m always looking for life hacks to make my busy life more manageable. I’m also always looking for new ways and ideas to spice up our dinner palette.  So I decided to try a meal subscription box service. I researched a few on the market and decided to try Hello Fresh. Out of all of the initial services I found on the internet, Hello Fresh seemed to be the best fit for me and my family. HelloFresh was simple and easy. 

Creating a Hello Fresh Account

Create an account on the Hello Fresh website. If possible, you a coupon code or a referral link. This will allow you to access promotional deals. You will need to designate the number of people who you are feeding and the frequency in which you want to receive meals. I selected a family of four and I wanted two meals per week. I thought this would be a perfect way test out the program.

Selecting Meals

I was initially nervous about selecting meals. Many of the recipes did not look like meals I would typically create for my family. I eventually realized that this was a good idea. I wanted to try new and different meals, therefore preparing recipes that I typically would not prepare was a great idea. During the meal selection, I made sure to find a Hello Fresh meal that was not very difficult to make. Keep in mind that I have small children and work long hours. I wanted meals that could be prepared within my standard 30-45 minute time frame. The meal contained information which list the ingrients, level of difficulty, and time required for completion.

Schedule Your First Delivery

Your weekly delivery will be scheduled for the same day of the week for each week. You are able to skip a week if you don’t want to receive a meal(s) for that week. If you purchase more than one meal a week, all meals will be delivered on one day.

Receiving Your Hello Fresh Delivery

My Hello Fresh meals were always delivered around 8:00 a.m. in the morning. The meat was partially defrosted. Everything is packed appropriately for delivery. The box contained recyclable ice packs.

Preparing Your Hello Fresh Meals

Each Hello Fresh meal came complete with all the ingredients I needed to make the meal. All meat, sides, spices, and seasoning were included. The only things I ever had to include that was not provided was salt and pepper and occasionally olive oil. I love the fact that everything was portinatly prepared. I felt as if I was on a cooking show and everything properly laid out in the exact size.

The instructions were very clear and concise. I felt as if it was written for the basic cook. I love the letter size recipe cards. They were printed on hard stock paper. Each step in the preparation stage includes a detailed picture in addition to the written instructions. The receipe cards are made to be kept and used for future references.

Enjoying Your Hello Fresh Meal

I could not believe I made these fabulous meals. Not only was it easy, but it taste fabulous. I felt as if i was a gournet cook. The presentation was fabulous. The meals taste awesome and my family completely loved everything.

I loved the idea that Hello Fresh pride themselves in using the best and fresh products for their meals. I was surprised how fresh the meats and vegetables were. Everything looked as if it was picked from the local farmers market.
