How to Create an Easy Desktop Filing / Tickler System

Creating and maintaining an effective desktop filing system can not only help you maintain your personal affairs, but also your project management and your business ventures. In our digital age, many people have opted out of using a paper ticker system. I’m here to tell you that keeping this system is a perfect way to be organized.

Although digital calendars, apps, and reminders are effective, there are many advantages of utilizing a paper system. I am not a complete dinosaur. I do utilize my digital resources. However, I prefer ink and paper. I can not fully trust digital calendars and automatic reminders 100%. Check out my YouTube video on how to create and use this system.

What is a Desktop Filing / Tickler System?

A Desktop Filing/Tickler System is an active (paper) file system that can keep track of future events by date or month. This is a designated spot to keep your important paper documents. By using this type of system, you can physically see the paper items you will need. Unlike a digital reminder on your phone, a confirmation email, or electronic tickets, the paper item can not be deleted accidentally. You do not need to remember a password. You can also easily access it if the battery dies on your phone or tablet.
