As a professional organizer, interior decorator, blogger, and small business owner, I fell in love with the Carpe Diem Planners when they were released. A planner is a must have item for me. I’ve owned a paper planner since my 15th birthday, (many many years ago). In our digital age, I still prefer the benefits of a paper planner. Click HERE to read my post on how a paper planner can increase your productivity. In 2014, I used several types of planners to find the perfect planner to fit my needs. Each planner I used had several pros and cons. I am currently using an Original Carpe Diem Planner for my everyday life planning.
During the winter of 2015, Simple Stories launched their Original Carpe Diem Planner. The planner community was excited about an affordable A5 style planner in six beautiful colors. The community also voiced their opinions on suggestions for new planners. Simple Stories listened and made several revisions for the new Carpe Diem planners that were released during the Spring of 2016.
Currently, there are three different types of Carpe Diem planners made by Simple Stories. The Original, Posh, and The Reset Girl. The Original Planner can only be purchased as a complete box set. The Posh and The Reset Girl Planner can be purchased in a complete box set or as an Ala Carte Planner Cover only.
The Original Carpe Diem Planner
When the original Carpe Diem Planner was released in November of 2015, it included 6 different beautiful colors. The colors were Black, Platinum, Pink, Coral, Teal, and Robin’s Egg. Currently all colors are retired with the exception of Black. Although you may be able to find some of the retired colors, Black is the only one which is still in production.
The inside of the Original Carpe Diem Planner has its signature black and white polka dot fabric. There are 4 split leather pockets on the inside front cover. The Original Carpe Diem Planner contains {12) monthly calendar pages, {12} monthly tabbed dividers, {72} weekly inserts, {1} acetate dashboard with silver foil print, {7} assorted decorative inserts, an elastic pen loop, an A5 tablet and a metal camera charm with ball chain. The hardware and metal charm is silver. The paper weight of the Original Carpe Diem Planner inserts are 100gsm. The planner and inserts are not Ala Carte. The MSRP for this planner is $44.99. ($37.50 HERE)
The Posh Carpe Diem Planner
The Posh Carpe Diem Planner was released in the Spring of 2016. The colors are Ivory, Coral, Marigold, Aqua, Robin’s Egg and Platinum. The inside of the planner is the same split leather material as the outside. The hardware in the Ivory and Robin’s Egg planner is gold. The hardware in the Coral, Marigold, Aqua, and Platinum is silver.
The complete box set of the Posh Carpe Diem Planner includes {12} monthly calendar pages (undated), {12} monthly tabbed dividers (undated), {72} horizontal weekly inserts (undated), {1} acetate dashboard with platinum foil print, {4} assorted decorative inserts, an elastic pen loop, and a metal Carpe Diem charm on a ball chain. The paper weight of the Posh Carpe Diem Planner inserts are 140gsm. The MSRP for this planner is $54.99. ($47.99 HERE)
The Ala Carte Planner Cover only includes the planner and the charm. The MSRP for this planner is $39.99. ($33.99 HERE)
The Reset Girl Carpe Diem Planner
The Reset Girl Carpe Diem Planner was also released in the Spring of 2016. The colors are Ballerina and Persimmon. The inside of the planner is the same split leather material as the outside. The hardware on the Reset Girl planners are gold.
The complete box set of the Reset Girl Carpe Diem Planner includes {24} monthly calendar pages (undated), {12} monthly tabbed dividers (undated), {72} vertical weekly inserts (undated), {1} acetate dashboard with gold foil print, {4} assorted decorative inserts, a 3×4 pocket card, an elastic pen loop, and a gold metal glasses charm on a ball chain. The paper weight of the Reset Girl Carpe Diem Planner inserts are 140gsm. The MSRP for this planner is $59.99. ($52.99 HERE)
The Ala Carte Planner Cover only includes the planner and the charm. The MSRP for this planner option is $44.99. ($38.99 HERE)
Common A5 Measurements
All Carpe Diem Planners are the standard A5 size. The planner is 8” wide x 9.4” high x 1.625” deep. The inner ring diameter is 30mm. The inserts are the standard A5 size – 5.83 x 8.27 inches. The planner can fit any standard A5 insert. The Carpe Diem inserts can also fit any standard A5 planner. A standard 6 ring hole punch can be used to make inserts for the Carpe Diem planner.
Must Have Accessories
The Simple Stories Carpe Diem accessories are absolutely functional and beautiful. Not only can they be used in Carpe Diem planners, but you can use them in other planners and scrapbooks. Since all of the planners are undated, I personally recommend the number stickers. In addition to the number stickers, the storage pouch is also a must have item. It is great to store your stickers, labels, etc. If you are a major planner person and need to plan your day by the hour, the daily inserts may be best for you.
